It was announced by Bruce Raymond at rehearsal in Adelaide, that Sarah Butler, a member of the front row Cornet team with K & N Spring Gully Brass, will be the new Musical Director of the bands Youth Brass, from 2008 onwards.
Bruce Raymond has been the longstanding Musical Director of the Youth Brass.

Sarah Butler graduated last year from the Elder Conservatorium of Music – Adelaide University and has returned there this year to complete Honors in Music.
Sarah will be assisted in her new role by Russell Webb the Principal Percussionist with K & N Spring Gully Brass. Sarah and Russell took the Youth Brass’s first rehearsal last Thursday night and from all accounts it was a highly successful transition from Bruce Raymond to Sarah and Russell.
K & N Youth Brass is an enormously successful part of the K & N Band scene, and currently boasts 40 Registered players between the age of 7 and 18 years.
Under the Musical Direction of Bruce Raymond, and an indication of the strength of the band K & N Youth Brass won the highly competitive C Grade Competition of the 2006 SA State Championships for that year.
K & N Youth Brass regularly provides player’s for it’s senior band.
The day after Sarah was appointed to the role, Andrew Stone, spoke to her and discussed the appointment. "Teaching a group of such incredibly talented young adults will be a fantastic experience," she said.
Sarah is also the Musical Director of ‘Torrens Brass’ the Learners Group of Adelaide’s Campbelltown City Band.
