A new Brass Workshop is set to take place in the heart of the Dales on February 11th, when star players from the orchestral and brass band worlds perform at Aireville School in Skipton in Yorkshire.
New project
The event is being hosted by 'Tutti', a new project set up to provide young players players with the experience of playing alongside professional players.
Headed by Richard Brown, currently principal trombone at Grimethorpe Colliery Band and a freelance player with the likes of the Halle and BBC orchestras, the workshop is open to brass players of Grade 5 and above.
Sectionals
The day will see sectional sessions for trumpets and cornets, horns, trombones and lower brass, rehearsals and a final informal concert to be held in front of family and friends.
Tutors for the day are, Gary Farr — Trumpet/Cornet; Huw Thomas — Trumpet/Cornet/Conductor; Laura Llewellyn — Horn; Richard Brown — Trombone and Les Neish — Tuba.

Unique feature
Richard told 4BR: "Tutti is a newly founded youth orchestra — a new kind of orchestra in fact. It's unique feature is that it combones talented schoolchildren and conservatoire students playing side by side.
