A full complement of band members brought their holiday lazy chops along to experience the individual style and attention to detail of the legendary conductor, visiting Australia as Musical Director for the McGregor Summer School/Queensland Band Association Youth Band Camp.
Afterwards the grease trolley, known in more polite circles as a barbeque was wheeled out and sausages were washed down with beers in the shade behind the band hall, in typical Aussie fashion — something Dick Evans didn't mind at all!
On a more serious note, Qld D Grade Champions, Brisbane Brass 3 kicked off the working band’s year on Saturday with a performance for a citizenship ceremony at the Hamilton Town Hall — a suburb in inner Brisbane.
