Just before Christmas, Knottingley Silver Band performed a Christmas Concert in aid of the Prince of Wales Hospice.
The compere for the evening was Andrew Edwards from BBC Radio Leeds. The concert was a huge success and the band received a lot of praise from both Andrew and the public.
Unexpected call
The following day the band received an unexpected phone call from BBC Radio Leeds asking if they would be able to provide an ensemble to perform some carols.
The band put together an ensemble and headed to the BBC studios in Leeds ready to perform on the breakfast show.

Live on air
After a bit of a wait the band were introduced to the radio team and performed live on air! As part of the show the radio presenters interviewed Robin Morgan, the bands MD and also Terry Clayton.
This year will see Terry celebrate his 67th year in the band, a true bandsman with Knottingley Band at Heart (two of Terry’s sons also play in the band, Roger on Solo Horn and Steve on principal Cornet).
The band really enjoyed the outing and would like to thank BBC Radio Leeds for the opportunity.
