The Kibworth Band has announced that Brendan Caddy has stepped down from the role of Musical Director.

It marks the end of a successful seven-year tenure that brought contest success and artistic progress for the Midlands band, which they stated, "helped elevate the ensemble to new heights."

A series of consistent finishes at the First Section Midlands Area Championship included qualification to the National Final in 2024.

Milestone

The band stated: "His focused preparation, clear musical direction directly contributed to the band's sustained success which ultimately secured promotion to the Championship Section, a milestone in our modern history. This stands as a testament to Brendan's influence, his high standards, and the confidence he instilled."

They added: "Beyond contesting, Brendan has shaped our musical identity with expressive concert performances, thoughtful programming and a rehearsal environment built on positivity, encouragement and ambition. His support has strengthened the band's culture and helped create a welcoming, motivated and united team."

Real joy

In response, Brendan said: "Working with Kibworth has been a real joy. The players bring such commitment and enthusiasm to everything they do, and I'm incredibly proud of what we've achieved together.

Stepping down wasn't an easy decision, but I leave with huge affection and complete confidence in the band's future. Everyone at Kibworth will always remain a close friend to me."

Band Manager Sam Haigh added: "Brendan has been a transformative presence.
