The vibrant concert was filmed at the end of the band's Summer Course

The vibrant summer concert of the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain Childrens Band can be enjoyed again this evening Friday 11th September from 7.30pm.

Recorded live at Taunton Brewhouse on 31st July, the concert brought together 56 talented young brass and percussion musicians for the culmination of The NYBBGB Children's Band's summer residential course at Taunton School.

Led by guest conductor Katrina Marzella-Wheeler and featuring young euphonium soloist Angus Ritchie it was entitled 'Disruption: The Sounds of Change'

Musical journey

The programme took the audience on a wide-ranging musical journey, from the energy of Lucy Pankhurst's 'March: IRL' and the adventure of Peter Graham's 'The Journal of Phileas Fogg' to Liz Lane's 'The Awakening' and Errollyn Wallen's vibrant 'Gold Saturday'.

Guest Soloist Angus Ritchie — winner of the NYBBGB's 2025 Harry Mortimer Award — performed Sigvart Dagsland's 'Michelangelo' and Andrew Lloyd Webber's 'Variations'.

There was plenty of fun along the way too, including 'Revolting Children' from Tim Minchin's 'Matilda: The Musical', as the young musicians showcased everything they had achieved during an intensive and inspiring week of music-making together.

Enjoy:
