Yorkshire gets ready for Bandamonium

Eight bands will provide plenty of great entertainment for brass band and cycling fans next month as six venues host Bandamonium performances.

Bandamonium
The 2026 Yorkshire Bandamonium event takes place next month

Bandamonium Yorkshire returns for the second time on Saturday 5th September with eight bands performing across six venues in the north Yorkshire villages of Helmsley, Gillamoor, Rosedale Abbey, Cropton, Pickering and Kirkbymoorside.

The ethos of the event, which this year coincides with the Tour of Britain cycle race (so you can bring bikes and lycra as well as your instruments) remains — a fantastic free event for bands and people to enjoy, all rounded off with a massed band performance at Kirkbymoorside Marketplace.

Tour of Britain

The festival ties in with the start of the Tour of Britain's Yorkshire leg at Helmsley. From noon, Bandamonium will be in Helmsley Market as the race begins — providing great entertainment for what promises to be a huge crowd.

The bands taking part are 2025 'Best Band' winner, Kirkbymoorside; Kirkbymoorside Bandtastics; 2025 'Peoples' Choice' winner, Swinton & District Excelsior; Stape Silver Band; Tees Components Brass; London Metropolitan Brass; Tewit Community Brass and Bandamonium Barbarians

Join in the fun

You can also come along and become a Bandamonium Barbarians for the event too — with the scratch band looking for a few players to fill the ranks. The invite is open to everyone and anyone — all players and all standards welcome — just turn up and join in.
