The experienced Alan Hobbins has been announced as the new Musical Director of Queensbury Music Centre Band.

Local ties

A band spokesperson told 4BR: "As someone with strong local ties, Alan is well placed to build on the excellent work already achieved while continuing his role with Eccles Borough Band.

His appointment enables him to support two thriving musical organisations and strengthen connections within the wider banding community.

Everyone at QMC is excited to welcome Alan and begin this exciting new era together."

Thrilled

In response, Alan said: "I'm thrilled to be starting this new chapter with the band, building on the strong foundations laid by Chris Lewis.

I'm really looking forward to the journey ahead, from the upcoming Fourth Section National Final in York to the continued growth and success of the QMC journey."
