Following the success of the recent Fleetwood Contest, bands are being encouraged to enter the Red Admiral Hymn & March event which takes place in the village of Croston on Sunday 5th July (11.00am start).
14 bands have already entered to compete for a share of the £3,000 prize pot, with spaces still available for those who wish to come along.
The village of Croston, Lancashire will once again host the popular event on Sunday 5th July, with the first band striking up at 11am, with a full day of music taking place on the village green.
Celebration
Speaking to 4BR about the contest, Danny Brooks, Red Admiral Academy Leader commented: "This has quickly become such a popular event and is regarded very much as a celebration of traditional brass banding right at the heart of the community we serve as an Academy."
He added: "We have already attracted almost double the number of entries of last year with bands coming across the North West and Wales to perform.
We've also introduced a road march for 2026, but with a twist — we've asked bands to pick a march that encompasses our Academy ethos of "making music fun...making music together", giving them the opportunity to find an innovative balance between tradition and entertainment."
