The Elgar International Brass Band Winter School will return later this year to Bromsgrove School.
Led by the cooperation band's MD, Katrina Marzella-Wheeler, it will take place from Friday 18th to Tuesday 22nd December and will offer brass band players the chance to enjoy an intensive, friendly and musically rewarding residential course in the run up to Christmas.
This will include rehearsals, sectional coaching and ensemble music-making, following the ethos and success of the Summer School course.
Rewarding week
Speaking about the event Katrina Marzella-Wheeler told 4BR: "I'm delighted to be leading this bespoke Winter School and looking forward to such a rewarding week.
What really appeals to me is the combination of an inclusive, enjoyable atmosphere created by ambition and challenge. I'm especially excited to work with Carole Crompton, her team, and such an outstanding group of tutors. So if you want to give yourselves an early Christmas treat I'd really encourage you to come along."
Special
Course Director Carole Hirst added: "The Winter School is designed to be special: a musical retreat at Christmas, combining excellent tuition, high-quality ensemble playing and the warmth of the brass band community.
We are thrilled to work with Katrina as Musical Director, and we look forward to welcoming delegates to Bromsgrove School for what promises to be an inspiring and memorable week."
