Over £9,000 has been raised to ensure that the Pontypridd Brass Band Festival will once again take place this year.
Funding has been secured to support eleven concerts from various local bands including junior and learner bands.
New work
The focus for this year will be around the centenary of the bandstand in Ynysangharad War Memorial Park and will include the commissioning of a brand new work from composer Neil Day entitled, 'Y Goleuni Disglair' (The Shining Beacon).
A spokesperson told 4BR: "The festival will feature multiple events including two days of performances at the bandstand, a youth workshop, the return of 'Blast The Brass' and new for this year, a Massed Band amongst other exciting events."
Contest presence
The organisers will be running stand at the upcoming Treforest Brass Band Festival run by the South East Wales Brass Band Association on May 16th.
