The opening concert of the 2026 RNCM International Brass Band Festival given by Foden's Band is now available to enjoy on the Wobplay.com media platform.

World premiere

Directed by Michael Fowles, the programme featured the world premiere of Claire Cope's 'The Green Chapel' which saw the Sandbach band joined by the acclaimed Bones Apart trombone quartet, as well as the Paul Mealor's major new work, 'Tranquil Abiding' and Philip Littlemore's re-scored version of Edmund Rubbra's 'Variations on the Shining River'.

With the festival celebrating the 75th birthday of composer Philip Saprke, Fodens showcased his imposing 'Partita', whilst they opened with 'A Fanfare of Bells' by Hermann Pallhuber and included Benjamin Britten's 'Prelude and Courtley Dances' from 'Gloriana' arranged by Paul Hindmarsh.

More to come

The concerts from Concord Brass Band, Tredegar, Black Dyke, Cory, and Brighouse & Rastrick will appear on wobplay.com in the coming weeks.
