The partnership aims to give free musical education

A leading IT consultancy company has announced it is to sponsor the Crofton Music Trust, a charity operating in the Wakefield area of Yorkshire.

Haigh Consultancy Services Ltd (HCS) works with some of the largest mailing houses and postal operators in the UK, as well as major companies from the Financial Services, Utility and Leisure Industry sectors.

Free musical education

Its Managing Director is Paul Haigh, who also plays baritone for Brighouse & Rastrick, and has held a keen commitment to helping children from disadvantaged backgrounds to gain access to free musical education.

Speaking to 4BR, on behalf of the company, he said: "I'm hoping that with our support the trust can build upon an already proven track record of providing free and affordable brass band tuition, instruments and music to children, adults, and people with disabilities.

Together, we will work hard to remove financial barriers to musical education, making music accessible, inclusive, and fun, believing it is a right rather than a luxury."

Impressed

He added: "I'm already extremely impressed with Katy Ruta, her team and what they have already achieved. There are currently 11 members in the learner band and only recently having launched the Crofton Brass Roots beginner band they already have 9 members.

We would be thrilled that some of them will enjoy brass banding of even go on and have careers in the music industry."
