Black Dyke Band solo horn player Siobhan Edwards has been featured on the long running BBC Radio 3 series 'The Essay'.
The series sees presenter Alan Hall talk with musicians about the nature of their relationship to their chosen instrument, and how it comes to define them as a performer and person.
Featured artists in the series have included saxophonists and pianists, trumpeters, oboe and cello players, as well as those working and around the music industry.
Natural
Siobhan talks about her musical background, how her instrument feels "natural" to her, and how the sound she makes on it has become her trademark — a "microphone"to express herself.
