Two leading brass soloists will showcase their talents at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in Cardiff early next year.
Sonic
Tuba star Sergio Carolino will be featured with RWCMD Musicians for an evening entitled 'SubWoofer' on Friday 23rd January (7.30pm) for what is described as "a fusion of genres, improvisation and sonic experimentation" through the versatility and expressive power of the low brass.
Sergio Carolino and the musicians will explore musical creativity, improvisation and sonic experimentation, incorporating jazz, rock, electronic music and popular traditions.
Lunchtime concert
French Horn star Ben Goldscheider will be featured in a lunchtime concert earlier the same day (Friday, 23rd January at 1.15pm).
The performer who performed the Edward Gregson 'Horn Concerto' at the 2025 RNCM International Brass Band Festival will be joined by accompanist Richard Uttley in horn showpieces both old and brand new — from the poetry of Mahler and Schumann to contemporary miniatures (some written specially for him) and a delightfully unexpected homage to Winnie the Pooh.
