Grimethorpe stars lead fantastic day in East Anglia

A bit of the Grimethorpe stardust certainly found its way to delegates on the latest East Anglian BBA workshop day in Norwich.

East Anglia
65 delegates enjoyed the day led by Grimethorpe Colliery Band stars

The East Anglian Brass Band Association recently held its Annual Brass Training Day at Hellesdon High School in Norwich.

The tutors for the event came from Grimethorpe Colliery Band and were led by Ben Dixon alongside colleagues, Tim Pannell, Andy Holmes, Helen Varley, Mark Glover and Chris Gomersall. The music studied included 'Valero', 'The Journal of Phileas Fogg', 'The Lord Bless You and Keep You' and 'Carnival of Venice'.

Fantastic

Speaking to 4BR about the success of the day, Association Secretary Christine Wade said: "It was fantastic. 65 delegates had enrolled for the course and it was sold out well in advance.

The response and feedback from the delegates players was incredible and what a privilege it was to have the opportunity to accompany Mark Glover in his superb performance of 'Carnival of Venice'.

Thanks

The Association took the opportunity to thank Norfolk County Council and Postcode Places Trust for their support of the event.
