Granite City Brass has announced the appointment of Alan Haggart, MA, LTCL as its new Musical Director.

It sees Alan return to the band having previously conducted them several times during the 1990s, 2000s, and early 2010s.

Well-known and respected both as a player and conductor, the appointment continues a long-established connection and sense of continuity with renewed creative energy.

Familiar

A familiar face on the Aberdeen music scene, Alan also performs with ensembles including Aberdeen Sinfonietta, the Blue Lamp Big Band, and the Aberdeen Bach Choir, as well as teaching brass across city schools through Aberdeen City Council's instrumental music service.

A band spokesperson told 4BR: "We are excited to be working under Alan's baton and look forward to the musical journey ahead."
