West Midlands
There were plenty of awards made on the evening of celebration

The West Midlands Police Band recently enjoyed a celebration evening where it made a number of well-deserved awards marking musical accomplishments, dedication, and the camaraderie that defines its spirit.

Awards

Director of Music Steve Pritchard-Jones presented the 'Band Person of the Year' award to Tim Bickley for his unwavering commitment, reliability, and the essential role he plays in the day-to-day life of the band.

The 'Players' Player of the Year' accolade went to Lesley Jenkins, chosen by her fellow band members in appreciation of her exceptional musicianship and the resilience she has shown throughout the year.

The 'Rising Star Award' award went to Lynda Morris for her impressive development, dedication, and clear potential, whilst the 'Outstanding Soloist of the Year' accolade was won by Wynn Davison in consistently delivering standout solo performances.

The musical skill is impressive, but it's the friendships, humour, and shared commitment that truly set this band apartSteve Pritchard-Jones

Distinguished Service

The 'Distinguished Service Award' went to John Gillam in honour of his many years of dedicated service and outstanding support to the band.

Reflecting on the evening, Steve Pritchard-Jones stated: "This night is more than a celebration of musical success—it's about recognising the individuals who bring energy and heart to everything we do.

The musical skill is impressive, but it's the friendships, humour, and shared commitment that truly set this band apart."
