Bands and supporters making their way to the Whit Friday Contests in Tameside this year (13th June) are being asked to be aware that a separate 'Hell on the Fell' running event takes place on the same day starting in Stalybridge.

Possible congestion

The 6 mile race starts at 7.15pm from Copley Leisure Centre on Huddersfield Road, Millbrook in Staybridge (SK15 3ET), so there may well be traffic congestion around the area and potential road restrictions with runners starting in the town before heading up to Trigg Point on Copley Fell and returning.

It is part of a four day 'The Tour' running festival based around Tameside and Glossop.
