Brass Band World magazine: Latest edition out now

The latest edition of the leading brass band magazine is now out — packed with news, reviews, articles, interviews and opinions.

Mike Lovatt
The main interview is with trumpet star Mike Lovatt

The latest edition (number 341) of Brass Band World magazine was published just before the European/Spring Festival weekend.

Mike Lovatt

It features an extensive interview with trumpet star Mike Lovatt following the news of his latest CD and concert video release with his famed 'Brass Pack'. The #Pro Platform' feature also sees the spotlight fall on another trumpet player with a brass band connection, with Kaitlin Wild who has just been appointed second trumpet with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.

Open castaway

There are of course pre-contest features on the competitive action that took place in Stavanger and Blackpool, with the BBW 'Castaway' to a desert island this month being Stephen Roberts, whose work, 'Star Crossed Lovers' will be the test-piece for the British Open Championship later this year.

There are also features on the North American Championships an article written by historian Tim Mutum on the dedicated brass band march — from Foden's 'The Cossack' to Black Dyke's 'Queensbury'.

Centre Band

Concert, CD and event reviews are added to by a 'Centre Band' feature on Tongwynlais Temperance who have just returned from a memorable trip to Japan.
