Kinneil united in union sponsorship

New trade union partnership strengthens local ties for Kinneil.

Kinneil
They will now be called Unite Scotland Kinneil Band.

There will be a new identity for Kinneil Band after it was announced that they have secured sponsorship from Unite the Union Scotland.

They will now be called Unite Scotland Kinneil Band.

Partnership

The partnership with the Trade Union comes as a result of the band's participation in several Unite events in 2024, specifically in relation to the 'Keep Grangemouth Working' campaign which impacted on a number of the band's players and families, as well as many residents of its home town of Bo'ness.

The relationship continues Kinneil's commitment to maintaining a strong presence in its local community, one that has enjoyed equally strong trade union support over many years — including the Miners Union at Kinneil Colliery and more latterly with NUPE, and in 1995, from UNISON.

Development

Band Manager Billie-Jane Hamilton told 4BR: "We are very grateful to UNISON for their longstanding involvement with us, and are now excited to begin our partnership with Unite the Union Scotland.

Their commitment is invaluable to securing the future of the band and will play a key part in the development of our talented youth players."
