The popular Holme Valley Contest will be held at The Civic, Holmfirth (HD9 3AS) on Sunday 27th April.

The organisers have told 4BR that they are delighted to report that they have a 'full house' of entrants for the contest which will celebrate its 96th anniversary this year.

Hymn tune and own-choice

Each band will play a hymn tune (Red Book) and own-choice test piece to try and catch the ears of adjudicator, Sandy Smith.

The day starts with the Youth Section at 9.00am, followed by Sections C, B and A.
