Following the success of last year's inaugural Elgar International Festival of Brass, details have been announced for an extended Festival at the Malvern Theatre in Bromsgrove on 7th & 8th June.
Septura Brass
The Festival will start at the 800-seat venue on Saturday evening, with Septura Brass. The critically acclaimed brass septet will feature a programme ranging from Rameau to a new commission from Edward Gregson entitled, 'The Merry Love to Dance'.
Trio
Sunday will feature a trio of leading brass bands, with Foden's, Cory and Black Dyke Band each performing concerts that will also include works by Edward Gregson to celebrate his 80th birthday — including his seminal 'Connotations'.
Speaking about the Festival, a spokesperson told 4BR: "We are delighted to once again promote a Festival featuring some of the world's leading ensembles. Each will perform a varied programme of music, compared by Frank Renton."
