Podcast: The Brass Monkeys

A new series based on opinions, experiences, chats and interviews with players, conductors and personalities away from the top section is proving a great hit with the Welsh banding diaspora...

Brass Monkeys
The three Brass Monkeys have launched a great new podcast

A new podcast series has recently been launched by three school friend bandsmen, Rich, Steve and Doug who all started their brass playing journey at Flint Town Silver Band in North Wales.

It all started by accident when the trio got together for a chat over a curry and a few beers.

Thankfully, a good idea turned into reality based about the banding region in North Wales and beyond. It's informal, entertaining and aimed at shedding a light of what banding is like away from the usual top section focus.

Banding chat and interviews

The trio chat about issues and news as well as to players and conductors who they have known to delve into their playing memories and banding lives that form the foundation of Welsh banding culture.

It's also attracted listeners from the worldwide Welsh diaspora — with connections made to the USA to New Zealand.
