The Jena-based orchestral school KLANGwelt, part of the Jena Brass Band Competence Centre in Germany recently hosted it annual rehearsal weekend for its young players.
Musicians aged 7 to 16 from the Jugend Brass Band BlechKLANG and Junior Brass Band KLANGwelt gathered to refine their skills, push musical boundaries, and strengthen their team spirit through a intense series of rehearsals and section workshops led by conductors Andrea Hobson and Monika Mohai.

Speaking about the event, Andrea told 4BR: "I'm constantly amazed by the dedication of our young members during this event. What impresses me most is the enthusiasm as they take on new repertoire.
It is a reminder of just how deeply embedded the love of brass band music is."

In collaborating alongside experienced musicians from Brass Band BlechKLANG and Brass Band VielKLANG, the improvements made were substantial, with Jakob Creutzburg, a euphonium player with BlechKLANG adding: "The commitment and passion of the young musicians in embracing new challenges was truly inspiring. There was a focused atmosphere throughout the weekend, which enabled the participants to make remarkable progress."
