A new series of Euphonium Recitals recently got under way given by Charley Brighton featuring guest soloist John Storey.
The event took place at Staines Salvation Army and was the latest in the long-standing series that goes back to 2001. 77 recitals were clocked up before lockdown with this being the 16th in the new post-Covid era started in 2023 when Charley teamed up with Gareth Green (MD of Egham Band).
More recitals to come
The concerts run from February to November and future guests include trombonists Lewis Martin, (Saturday April 26th) and Paul MacNeill (Saturday May 24th.)
All the recitals feature a display of vintage and classic euphoniums from Charley's vast collection — ranging from instrument well over a century old to the modern day.
The free recitals last for around an hour, with a retiring collection where all donations go to the work of the Staines Salvation Army.
