Details have been announced of the forthcoming Guildhall Young Artists' (GYA) National Brass and Percussion Solo Competition & Workshop.
Generously supported by Buffet Crampon, Phil Parker Ltd, Southern Percussion, and Warwick Music, it will take place at Milton Court Concert Hall, part of the Guildhall School of Music & Drama on Sunday 6th April from 10.00am — 4.00pm.
Platform
Adjudicated by Phil Cobb (trumpet), Peter Moore (trombone), Julian Warburton (percussion), and Alex Duggan (percussion), the unique competition and workshop provides a platform for young brass and percussion players, supporting their artistic development and celebrating their musical achievements.
Additional teaching and adjudication will be provided by Guildhall School's faculty, offering participants an invaluable learning experience with some of the industry's finest educators.
Who and when
The event is open to students aged 9 to 18 (including gap year students aged 19), with a minimum playing standard of Grade 3. Instrumentation covers trumpet/cornet/flugel/tenor horn/French horn/euphonium/baritone/trombone/tuba/percussion (tuned and kit)
