Welsh passions are certainly going to be stirred this weekend as the nation celebrates St David's Day on Saturday.
As usual there will be a brass band concert to enjoy in the heart of the Welsh capital as the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama Brass Band under Dr Robert Childs provides a programme that mixes Welsh hwyl with easy listening favourites at the Dora Stoutzker Hall (7.30pm).
Programme
They will open with 'Men of Harlech' and close with 'The Day of the Dragon', but in between there is the chance to hear Daniel Hall's clever 'Smoke Sketches' suite, Dan Price's 'An American Tale' and Elgar Howarth's 'Hunt the Hare' amongst others.
The featured soloists are the talented student duo of George Fearnley, who will play Peter Kneale's 'Variations on a Welsh Theme', and Ollie Hodgkiss who will perform 'Brillante'.
