Saturday evening at the RNCM International Brass Band Festival sees Black Dyke Band under Director of Music, Prof Nicholas Childs provide repertoire that reflects on the majesty of this world and beyond.
Galactico soloists
They are certainly joined by two 'Galactico' soloists in David Childs and Ian Bousfield in two major concerto performances, whilst the band will also be exploring magnificent global vistas with works by Sir Karl Jenkins and Edward Gregson and one inspired by world beyond in Philip Wilby's 'Astralis' — complete with projected imagery.
Add to that, sparking openers from Jacob Larson and Andrea Price, who will also conduct it, and little wonder tickets are in short supply.
We caught up with Prof Childs to find out more about the music being played…
