The Scottish Brass Band Association (SBBA) has stated that it is keen to offer support to assist the establishment of a Glasgow Area University & Colleges Brass Band.

At present, Edinburgh University Brass Band is the only ensemble of its kind in Scotland. Established in 2005 it is affiliated with the Edinburgh University Student Association and rehearses and performs throughout the year.

Strengthen

The new initiative is aimed at helping further strengthen brass banding ties to the higher education sector, offering students the opportunity to carry on playing to a level they can enjoy during their studies. It is also hoped that other higher education establishments will follow.

You do not have to be in study but do need to be over the age of 17.
