Members of Foden's Band recently spent an enjoyable day working with the Lions Academy and Lions Youth Band ahead of their appearance at the National Youth Brass Band Championships in Hull in March.

Mark Wilkinson, Jonathan Bates, Mark Bousie, Paul Hughes, Shaun Farrington and Graham Procter took sectional rehearsals before MD, Ian Raisbeck took full rehearsals on the Youth Band's set-test 'Fanfares, Songs and Dances' by Philip Sparke, as well as their own-choice work.

Close partnership

Foden's have enjoyed a close working partnership with Lions for a number of years with John Barber conducting their 'Debut Band' and a number of Foden's players' children playing across the organisation's Debut, Training and Youth Band.

Foden's Musical Director Michael Fowles will now visit Lions Youth to further aid their Championships preparations.
