4BR has been informed that the three-year musical partnership between conductor Anna Hughes-Williams and Trinity Girls Band has come to an end.

Right time

Anna, who was the first female conductor of the all-female band told 4BR: "Conducting Trinity has been a very enjoyable experience but, after three years, I feel it is now time to take on a new musical challenge.

I wish them all the very best for the future and I leave with so many happy memories."

Enjoyed

During her tenure the North West Third Section band gained podium finishes at the Buxton Festival and Rochdale Contest and enjoyed a number of concerts.

The band is due to take part in the Third Section of the North West Regional Championships in February.
