Winter success for Elgar Summer School

The addition of a new Elgar International Brass Band Winter School attracted over 30 delegates to Bromsgrove.

The EIBBWS will now be part of the annual course on offer

The Elgar International Brass Band Summer School has built on its success in 2024 by recently hosting its inaugural Winter School.

The four-day Winter course was hosted at Bromsgrove School in Worcestershire, with over 30 delegates taking the opportunity to work under Flowers MD, Paul Holland and his team of tutors.

These included Mark Wilkinson, Chris Thomas, Les Neish, Daniel Thomas, Jonny Bates, and Ceri-Ann Townsend. Following packed days of rehearsal, practice and tutoring the event was rounded off with a public concert.

Delighted

A spokesperson told 4BR: "We have been delighted by the success of the first Winter School, one that attracted delegates keen to both enjoy themselves and to boost their playing potential. We were thrilled by their response and the way in which they so enthusiastically tackled both new and familiar works.

The Elgar International Brass Band Winter School will now form part of the outstanding musical offering we have for delegates."
