Brighouse and Tredegar join for concert brace

Brighouse & Rastrick and Tredegar will join forces for concerts in Huddersfield and Newtown in the Spring.

Brighouse
The bands join forces for the joint concert appearances

Two of the UKs leading bands have announced a reciprocal link that will see them join forces to share concert stages in Yorkshire and Wales in 2025.

Brighouse & Rastrick and Tredegar will perform together in Huddersfield and Newtown in March and April.

Growing friendship

Speaking about the link, Brighouse & Rastrick Chairperson Stephen Howe told 4BR that the idea has come from a growing musical friendship between the organisations.

"The players of the bands get on really well and had a great time together at last year's European Championship in Palanga and again at Brass in Concert. There is also a great deal of musical respect in our joint desire to reach out to audiences.

We are really looking forward to welcoming Tredegar back to our famous concert series and then heading to Wales to enjoy ourselves there."

Stephen told 4BR that the 151st annual Massed Band Concert on Saturday 29th March (7.15pm) is themed as 'A Springtime Celebration' with music to reflect the new season.

"Our audiences enjoy the connections we are able to make the music performed and so given the time of year we thought it would be a good idea to bring something fresh, bright and invigorating to the stage with the bands."

It will be the second time Tredegar will join Brighouse for the concert series, with their previous appearance back in 2013.

Thanks

In response, Tredegar Chairperson David Thomas added: "My thanks go to Stephen for making this happen. To be asked to return be part of the annual concert series at Huddersfield Town Hall is something we are really looking forward to, and we are sure there is going to be an equally warm welcome for the band when they travel to Wales."

David told 4BR that the Newtown Concert on Sunday 6th April (3.00pm) will also be a showcase of audience friendly music making that will mix the new with the traditional.
