Rutter recording makes Presto mark

Black Dyke Band's CD of John Rutter's festive music becomes Presto Music's Recording of the Week.

Black Dyke Band's recording of the Christmas music of composer John Rutter has just been selected by the influential online music magazine Presto Music as its 'Recording of the Week'.

'John Rutter — Brass at Christmas' features the Queensbury Band under Prof Nicholas Childs alongside the Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus led by Darius Battiwalla in a series of festive works arranged by Luc Vertommen.

It was described by critic David Smith as "Not surprisingly the blend is immaculate..."
