The Felling Band has announced that the experienced Stephen Malcolm will lead the band at the North of England Regional Championships in 2025.

No stranger

Steve is no stranger to the band, having conducted them at the Second Section Areas way back in 2003 and then in the Championship Section from 2011-2014 — becoming North of England Regional Champion in 2012.

More recently he has been playing tuba with Brighouse & Rastrick Band, but 2025 sees him reducing his annual mileage and carbon footprint as he makes a welcome return.

Huge thanks

The band stated: "We also send huge thanks to our resident MD, Jason Smith for filling the temporary gap on euphonium at the Area Championship due to the prior commitments of our two euphonium players."
