TATA Brass Band will be led by a new MD as it looks forward to entering its second year after reopening its doors following a ten-year competitive hiatus.
Over the past year the band has been expertly led through its rebuilding by the vastly experienced Colin Hogg who has now taken the decision to step down from the role.
Thanks
The band stated that it would like to express its deep gratitude to him for all his work, advice and commitment, as they now look to progress further under the baton of Ceri Parry Morgan.
The Tredegar tuba player is from Port Talbot, home of the band and started his own musical journey with them.
Happy
The former member of the National Youth Band of Wales and the European Youth Band told 4BR: "When it was clear that the band needed someone to come in to build on Colin's great work, I was only too happy to help.
This band means an awful lot to me and I would be thrilled if we can keep pushing on from such a progressive start. The doors are always open, so if you want a blow, please come along and join us for the night or even longer."
Rehearsals
The band rehearses on Wednesday evenings, between 7.30pm and 9.00pm, in their band room at the TATA Sports & Social Club, Abbots Close, Margam, Port Talbot SA13 2NF.
