Welsh rivalries renewed today

A dozen bands will lock horns in Carmarthenshire today for the return of the West Wales BBA Contest in Cefneithin.

  The contest has been revived to encourage further participation

The domestic contesting season in South Wales continues this weekend with the revival of the West Wales Brass Band Association event in Cefneithin in Carmarthenshire on Saturday 12th October.

The contest day kicks off at 10.00am at Ysgol Maes Y Gwendraeth (SA14 7AQ) with the first of 12 bands performing their own-choice test-piece selections for the judges Jonathan Pippen and Glyn Williams.

Youth workshop

There is also a youth workshop taking place on the day led by Jonathan Pippen to help inspire the next generation of young players in the area. There is also the welcome appearance of Gorseinon Band in the new Community Band Section.

June 1 • A highly motivated and talented musician with strong organisational skills is required to lead the RAF Wyton Area Voluntary Band as the Voluntary Band Instructor. This is a full time paid position (37 hrs pw)


Croy Silver Band

June 1 • Croy Silver Band currently has contest vacancies on Cornet and Percussion, but we always welcome enquiries for any section of the band. We rehearse in Croy on Monday and Thursday evenings from 7:30pm.


Epping Forest Band

May 31 • Epping Forest band have a vacancy for solo horn.. We are a friendly 3rd section band with a variety of gigs through out the year.. We have our own band hut with close to links with London Underground central line and the M11 motorway.
