Portuguese euphonium star Mauro Martins is set to release his second solo CD album next month.

The Adams instrument and Denis Wick artist has gained widespread critical acclaimed for his musical outlook, with his new album, 'On My Way' set to build on the success of his first release, 'Flow' in 2021, which received a 5 star review from 4BR and was shortlisted as one of its solo CDs of the year.

Two Concertos

Known for his technical precision and lyrical expressiveness, 'On My Way' has been recorded with the Portuguese Air Force Band and features major performances of Johan de Meij's 'UFO Concerto' and Jukka Linkola's 'Euphonium Concerto'. Also featured is Gilles Rocha's 'Blind Spot'.

Testament

Those who have heard pre-launch copies has been hugely impressed, with David Childs stating: "Mauro brings to life two of the most demanding concertos in the euphonium repertoire. This CD is not merely a showcase of technical excellence, it is a testament to Mauro's dedication to his craft."

Composer, Johan de Meij added: "Mauro Martins is sounding terrific, his technique is absolutely flawless, and he produces a beautiful sound throughout."

'On My Way' will be reviewed by 4BR in the near future.
