Bands prepare for ODBBA Contest

11 bands will take part in the entertainment contest in Witney later this month.

  The contest takes place in Witney on 20th October

The annual ODDA Entertainment Contest takes place this year at Cokethorpe School, Witney, Oxfordshire (OX29 7PJ) 20th October.

Entertainment

11 bands will provide their 20-minute entertainment programmes which must include a featured soloist. The adjudicator is Jonathan Bates

Section B:

(3rd, 4th and Unregistered sections)

9.30am: Coleshill Youth Brass (Stephen Fagg)
10.00am: Wantage Academy (Nikki Jones)
10.30am: Yarnton Band (Guy James)
11.00am: Chinnor Training Band (Chris Andrews)
11.30 Hemel Hempstead Band (Dan Shave)
12.00pm: Swindon Brass (Steve Yorke)
12.30pm: Witney Town Band (Guy James)
1.00pm Jubilee Brass (Oxford) (Clifford Sadler)

2.30pm: Oxford Cherwell Brass (Danny Dullforce)
3.00pm: Kidlington Concert Brass (Jonathan Pippen)
3.30pm: Wantage Concert Brass (Chris Davis)

Entry fees: Adults £6, Concessions (Over 60's/11-16's) £5, Under 11 (accompanied by an adult) Free.

Hot and cold drinks, rolls, home made cakes etc will be available all day.

The annual Winter Contest will take place at the same venue on Saturday 22nd February.

January 16 • CORNET PLAYER - looking ahead to the 2026 contest season, ELB are looking for a cornet player to complete our line up. The band is ambitious and keen to further our successful 2025 season of winning the areas and promotion at spring festival.


Enderby Band

January 16 • Following our 2nd place finish at the LBBA winter contest and recent promotion to the Senior Cup for the 2026 Spring Festival, we are looking for a SOLO CORNET, a BBb BASS and PERCUSSIONISTS to complete our friendly and hardworking team.


Petworth Town Band

January 15 • Petworth Town Band have vacancies for CORNETS, BASS TROMBONE and TUBA. We are a very active band with concerts and engagements planned throughout the year.
