BBE Conference change of venue

The Brass Bands England Conference has had a change of its London venue.

Change
The venue has been changed to the City of London School

Brass Bands England has announced a change of London venue for its annual Brass Band Conference 2024.

It has now been moved from the China Exchange to the City of London School, also in the centre of the city. It will still take place on Saturday 19th October on the theme of 'Creative Communities'.

Highlights

Highlights will include a keynote speech from composer Shri Sriram, a panel discussion chaired by Edward Gregson, and a performance and practical session by Kinetica Bloco.

City of London School sits on the north bank of the Thames, just minutes away from Blackfriars station with direct links to Kings Cross/St Pancras.

Mansion House, St Paul's, Cannon Street and Bank underground stations are all within a 10-minute walk. If travelling to Blackfriars station you can arrive at the venue without having to cross any roads. The venue is next to the Millennium Bridge, close to the Tate Modern, Shard and Tower Bridge.

The day will close with a complimentary networking drinks reception in the school's upper atrium. The venue is fully wheelchair accessible

Recent additions to the programme include a practical session delivered by Kinetica Bloco, to create a relevant, exciting tune by ear.

Ideas and confidence

Andy Grappy, its Senior Brass Director told 4BR: "We hope that the session will give people some ideas and confidence in creating music aurally that you can take back to your bands across the UK and also help you see ways you can get young people excited by brass banding!"

Booking:

Booking for the conference is still open via the Brass Bands England website. Limited places remain available so delegates are advised to book now to avoid disappointment.
