Smith & Grezzy's Big Chat Brass

The duo catch up with Morgan Griffiths, MD of Hammonds Band to chew the brass band fat.

Podcast
Sandy and Simon catch up with Morgan Griffiths for their latest chat about brass

The latest 'Smith and Grezzy's Big Chat Brass' podcast has just come out with the duo meeting up with old friend Morgan Griffiths, the MD of Hammonds Band.

Morgan talks about his music life as well as highlighting his views on the current movement — one which alongside his brother Geraint was inspired by his father Ted first at the Yorkshire Bus Company Band.

He went on to become one of the outstanding euphonium players of his generation, winning two Royal Albert Hall National titles, three British Opens and no fewer than seven Europeans with the likes of Black Dyke and YBS Bands.

Musical approach

He subsequently took over the reigns at YBS as Musical Director and has led the former European and British Open champion back to the elite level and to once again become a serious contender for the major championships titles.

A performer renowned for his musical approach and tonal qualities he touches on all aspects of his fascinating career as well as sharing his viewpoints and opinions with Sandy and Simon.
