Peebles say goodbye to MD

The musical partnership between Peebles Burgh and MD Vaughan Fleischfresser comes to an end.

Peebles
Peebles Band has said a fond farewell to MD Vaughan Fleischfresser

Peebles Burgh Silver Band has announced that their musical partnership with conductor Vaughan Fleischfresser is to come to end as he seeks new opportunities in his homeland of Australia.

Long term aims

The Third Section band based in Scottish Borders town of Peebles, rehearses on Monday and Thursday evenings and is a community ensemble that is building with long term aims and objectives.

At the latest Scottish Championships the band contained nine High School players in their ranks. Additionally, there is a thriving youth section with good potential growth for the future.

Thanks

Band Chairperson Donna Hamilton told 4BR: "We are very sorry that Vaughan is leaving Peebles with his family, but delighted with the exciting opportunity that lies ahead for all of them.

We would like to thank Vaughan for the hard work and commitment he displayed during his time us, both as a player and a conductor. We are now looking for a new Musical Director to take over at the helm and to continue his work and further develop out long terms ambitions."
