The executive committee of the Scottish Brass Band Association has taken the decision to reduce the time a player has to wait before transferring back to their releasing band from six months to three months.
Members accepted a proposal from the Membership & Governance Subcommittee to amend Rule D2.6 with immediate effect, although there will continue to be an ongoing revision of the Rules & Procedures.
Rule D2.7, limiting a player to a maximum of two transfers within a 12-month period, remains unchanged however.
More flexibility
"This rule change will help to provide more flexibility to those bands who wish to take part in contests, but do not have the requisite number of players,"said SBBA secretary and registrar Tom Allan.
