Skipsey lead at Milnrow comes to an end

The musical partnership between Lee Skipsey and Milnrow Band has reached its final chord.

The MD came to the band from City of Bradford in 2022

The Milnrow Band has announced that their musical partnership with conductor Lee Skipsey has come to an end due to the conductor's personal commitments.

The band has stated that it placed on record its "sincere thanks to Lee for his hard work, commitment, and friendship through his tenure."

High level

The former City of Bradford MD came to the North West band in 2022, consolidating their position in the Championship Section at the Regional Championships and Spring Festival.

The band added: "His musicality, performance and personality impressed immediately and has seen him lead us through some challenging set works, performing them at a high level."

Great time

Speaking about his decision, Lee said: "I've enjoyed a great time with a top-class band that work so, so hard. Any conductor would love to be in front of this band, so I'm looking forward to their future.

I'm staying closer to home and glad I've met and become part of the Milnrow family. What a great group of people offering proper banding."

The band has stated it has now started the process of looking at the appointment of a new MD.
