The twelfth Fermanagh Tyrone Brass Band Summer School will take place between Thursday 18th and Saturday 20th July — with only a few places left to fill.

Cutt and tutors

It will be led by the 'Marple Maestro' Prof Garry Cutt who will lead an exciting team of tutors including Dewi Griffiths, Tom Smith, Owen Farr, Mick Marshall, Amy Ewen, Les Neish and Ronan McKee.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "We have delegates travelling from all over then UK and Ireland for course fee of only £60.

We welcome players of all ages and abilities to the beautiful town of Enniskillen to perform, learn and socialise with some of the best brass educators and performers."

Whit challenge

A particular highlight in 2024 will be the Whit Friday style contest with two bands going head to head — both under the baton of Prof Garry Cutt — fresh from leading Brighouse & Rastrick to success in Saddleworth this year.

Participants will be assigned randomly to either the König & Meyer (K&M) Band or the Mercer & Barker Ltd Band — with just 30 minutes to prepare their chosen march — just to add to the excitement.
