Baker to lead open workshop at Thundersley

Trombone soloist Brett Baker will be maintaining his busy playing schedule later this month as he leads a masterclass and workshop afternoon with the Thundersley Band on Saturday 25th May.

Palanga, Blackpool, Thundersley

Brett recently adjudicated at the European Brass Band Championships in Palanga and this weekend will be heading to another well-known coastal resort to direct Elland Silver Band in the Senior Cup in Blackpool.

His trip to Thundersley came after they won the 'Best Trombone Section' award at the LBBA Contest late last year. Part of the prize package was a visit from Brett to lead a trombone masterclass, but following discussions this has now turned into an additional open workshop and concert.

Brett will be joined by his friend and former Black Dyke Band colleague Paul Woodward.

This starts at 4.30pm at Richmond Hall, Richmond Avenue, Benfleet (SS7 5HA). The concert follows at 7.00pm.
