Ethan received the cornet from quiz winner and band member Lizzie Findlay

A young player from Sandhurst Silver Band's Brasshoppers training ensemble has been presented with a brand new Besson Prodige cornet thanks to the musical knowledge of band member Lizzie Findlay.

Lizzie was the winner of the 4BR Christmas Quiz which was run in association with Besson Musical Instruments and Band Supplies Ltd.

Prodige cornet

The prize was a fantastic Besson Prodige cornet — the ideal instrument for any young player, with Ethan delighted to receive it from Lizzie at a recent rehearsal.

Band spokesperson Ian Dewhurst told 4BR: "Our thanks go to Besson, Band Supplies and 4BR for a great prize — but especially to Lizzie for getting all the answers right!. It is going to be used by a super young player too!"

4BR Editor Iwan Fox added: "We always get a fantastic response to the annual Christmas Quiz and my thanks also go to Besson and Band Supplies who support it each year. We all look forward to hearing Ethan performing on it in the years to come!"
