Wroughton
Neil accepted the trio of awards presented to him

Wroughton Silver Band marked the end of a busy 2023 by presenting their annual awards at their last concert appearance of the year.

A thoroughly deserved 'Long Service' Award was presented to Neil Webb, who has notched up over 60 years of dedicated commitment — and was added to with an additional award to mark 40 years of leadership as Musical Director.

Player and MD

A spokesperson told 4BR: "First as a player and now as our outstanding Musical Director, Neil's passion is undeniable and makes rehearsals a joy. He does so much for the band."

Band Chairperson Michael Pentelow also presented Neil with a third award on the evening by the Swindon Male Voice Choir, for all the years of professional musical service provided by Neil and the band over the years.

Thanks

The band spokesperson added: "We as a band, publicly thank Neil for everything both as Musical Director and as a very active committee member, often taking on a list of thankless jobs that get completed to ensure the band keeps on banding.

We also know we all want to do it with him for many years to come."
