A clear winner on the '4BR Solo CD of the Year' category with the sublime recording by Matthias Hofs of works by Oskar Bohme taking the honours with 8 first choice preferences from the panel.

The recording was a showcase of artistic brilliance, and the banding world can hear him perform live at the RNCM International Brass Band Festival in Manchester in January.

Matilda Lloyd's cultured operatic musicality also won many admirers on its release this year as it came a deserved runner-up, with Clare Farr's super bass trombone showcase 'Loudmouthed Beauty' in third.
